You Get Me?

You Get Me?

You Get Me?
by Matt Byrum

“I don’t know what was said
When you got that call from the boss
Now I feel so unappreciated
I bet he said: “Now listen hoss,
Your friend down in cubicle two
Can’t possibly compete with you.
If you want a signal, here’s a sign:
I’m hiring you full time!”
I don’t really care much anymore.”

“It’s been months since you left me ,
And in that time i never said you were not kind.
The "for why" I still don’t see.
Now I’m not sure if I really mind,
And if I found you ever lied
It’s past the point where i could’ve died.
It doesn’t matter
Since I am mad as a hatter.
I don’t really care much anymore.”

“Can’t believe what you have done.
You went and stabbed our backs.
The race is run,
Now to pick up the slack.
If you can’t see the problem
Then you can choose us or them,
But now to cut our losses.
You’d beat a priest and steal his crosses.
I don’t seem to care much anymore.”
