WEEKEND POEM

WEEKEND POEM

A Poem by rutherford

Friday night is full of great expectations
Two days stretch before him.

Saturday he will rollover and sleep another hour.
He doesn't have to shave.

He can make coffee and enjoy it
while he reads the paper including the funnies.

He can eat eggs and go to the landfill for fun.
The dogs can get that long walk to the park
with ball playing.

Maybe he will mow the lawn
but for certain he will take a nap.

He will play a board game with his 9-year old daughter.
He might have that second beer.

Sunday will be lost.
He will not go to church and feel guilty.

At night he will stay up late
Refusing to accept the end.

An artistic rendition... it's amazing how the brush strokes can be both firm and delicate at the same time, isn't it? The subjects framed and animated as in a flip=page sketchbook, harmonizing with syncopation of Steamboat Willy's gyrations of happiness. You're a fair water pilot, Rutherford. Mark twain!
