Washingon Reagan National Airport, Monday 8:50AM

A Poem by rutherford
"

From spending too much time in airports.

"

Gate 19 from Cincinnati

disembarks a platoon of black roller bags

in close order formation

forward tilt

like a trail of almost falling dominoes

Counterparts stand as sentries

handles extended like bayonets pointed skyward

hold cargoes of clean underwear, socks, blue button downs

bound for Atlanta, Chicago, Brussels or Dubai

Golden elite of their rank board first

To this army of bags

this is one more outpost

in one more hemisphere

in a rolling parade

across the globe

You have such unique way of making see your perspective. This reminded me I was in Washington D.C once but only in this airport.

And of course they will all be sitting in "BUSINESS CLASS"...no doubt. You have a way of writing about some pretty obscure stuff and make the reader care. Your friend in words, Pete

If only those bags could talk... You give a great "inside look" in this poem, John.
