(the end of rehearsal)

it all depends on those

five minutes

before i came home

night time

my time

cartwheels under the spotlight

driving over the bridge

radio fuzzy

i can’t

hear

phone call

before i knew

you were

gone

(to be alone with you)

so much depends

upon

the color of your hair

when we are on the roof

the noise from the restaurants

is

drowned

out

the chairs have

low dipped backs

settling in

your hand on my

neck

Seriously? You hate them...?!? Well, they gave me goosebumps. Not something you can put on a rubric...if I could, I'd put it under a section titled "how to write a poem with impact" and one of the markers would be "gives the reader goosebumps." Impact. These have them. Can't wait to see what else you write in this class.
