Reasons to write

Reasons to write

A Poem by sarah

Sometimes it feel like every word has been spoken
Everything that needs to be said
Has been said

Sometimes it seems like everything that needs to happen
Has happened
To save a life

Sometimes it looks like every heart has been broken
In some way or another
And nothing can heal the hurt

Sometimes we try to find the sense of life
The reasons for living
Our purpose

Sometimes I feel like there is nothing left
Nothing left to feel
Nothing left to write about

We've said it all
We've heard it all
We've seen it all

What's left?
What's left to say?
What's left of us?

But right when I think there is nothing left
To write about
Something happens

A new emotion
Or an emotion I haven't felt in a long time
An experience

There is always something to write about
Because no one can write or feel something
Once

Just when you think you've seen it all
Something happens
And once again you've got your reason to write

Always something to write about. This is a new world. No time in history have we been in such a bad place. Need strong and hopeful people to chance the direction of the world we live in. A very good poem. Words may be repeated. But their meaning will be different.

Interesting write. I feel the same half the time, and I also have these urges. Sometimes, they are fulfilled, sometimes they aren't

There is always a reason to write, sometimes we only have to wait for the inspiration.

You said it well here, and at times I imagine many of us will have felt that there is "nothing left to say", but I guess that's the beauty of life...we never know what's coming next, and to think that it's all done is such a myth! Great poem.....I remember thinking I had "dried up" and couldn't write any more poems.....but that soon change too....:)

Very nice view of the writing process. Inspiration can appear anywhere, anytime, the art is in recognizing the inspiration and noting it.

I like this! To write is to breath in thought expression. If everything had been written about, then we would still dream up something new to write about. That is what we writers do...breath life into the society by our thoughts and our dreams and sharing them and inviting others to dream. What if there were no dreams????
