I lied

I lied

A Poem by sarah

She took me by surprise
I was content the way I was
She was different from the rest

Her laugh surprised me
Her smile amazed me
Her humor was undeniable

But those were features
I noticed later
It was her kindness

I saw how much she cared for the people she loved
I watched as she dropped whatever she was doing
To listen to a friend in need

She was the only one
That took an interest
In what was going on in my head

She did more then listen to what I said
She called me out when I did something wrong
She applauded a job well done

She cared
I cared....

She let me into her world
It turned out
I needed her
Just as much as she needed me

We gave our hearts to each other
We shared everything

But when she said those words
Those three words
My heart stopped

"I love you"

And then I did something
I promised her I would never do
I broke her trust in me

I broke her spirit
I broke her heart
By doing the very thing she thought I would never do

I lied.....

Ok this is an experiment written from the point of view of my ex. Don't tell me that this is just in my head, because I know this is just my hoping mind wonder. Someone suggested something like this taking the point of view of someone I knew, which I actually had been thinking about doing for a while. Please just tell me what you think.

i think its a great poem, and the way you wrote (looking at it from a psychology point of view) i mean from his perspective. could lead you in a good direction on the path of "closer". by knowing it from the way he though, maybe it will help you realize what when on and how it ended.

it's good to step outside yourself and see someone's else's perspective..this is all part of healing..knowing who you are in relation to others..I think it must have cathartic to write...nice job

I like this writing, thought it was a very creative perspective. Perhaps this helps you in your healing too to see his perspective of things.

Wow...this bowled me over. I was shouting STOP before you betrayed her...i mean he betrayed you...wow. This is radical...so heartfelt and REAL! I have to digest this

Lies will bring a world to a dead end. A small lie can be twisted to more lies. Then one day no-one will know what is true. A poem with wisdom. Words can open doors and close doors too. A outstanding poem. Thank you.
