"the.last.goodbye"

"the.last.goodbye"

A Poem by Sakshi

Wait for the night, it's still daylight..
I don't want the world to see me cry..

It's not a bright sun, are you gonna come?
Or should I just walk alone?

I've reached home, and I'm still alone,
Where did you go away?

I search for a sign, wanna assure your mine,
But all my dreams are drowning..

I wait past the dusk for you, but this anticipation seems new,
I wish I could dupe the time..

Tell me I ain't pushed away, because I have nothing left to say,
What will I do without you..

I think I was trying to hold in sand, now when I open my hand,
Its empty and you are gone..

Happy we were once upon a time, but did I do some crime,
To wait for you till eternity?

Oh I'm tired of the games, my life always plays,
Now I'm gonna retire soon..

Hope I'll see you again, meet you in a new game,
In another world and another life.. Good bye!

Hi, I'm dropping by to give thanks for you stopping by my page. Full disclaimer: I am not a real poet, I have not studied poetry, and I have no expertise to fall back on for any comment I make!

You know what I keep thinking about upon reading this? You use the word "you" and you also use the abbreviation "u." Is this on purpose? This is a serious, powerful poem, and my feeling is that "u" doesn't belong in an emotionally powerful poem. However, I'm almost 40 years old and I'm not accustomed to all the new-fangled abbreviations the kids use today, so maybe a younger generation has no problem with "u."

Totally separate thought: you could be a groundbreaking poet by writing dead-serious poetry entirely in text-speak. : )
