I Had a Dream Last Night

Last night I had a dream

A dream about you and me

I thought nothing would come in between us

But I was wrong

We kissed, we hugged

We learned to love like we had never loved before

We owned the world

But the world may not be so perfect

And there's other fish in the sea

Slippery eels and killer sharks

They're pulling me down away from you

It's as if I have no control

My brain is playing tricks on me

It says to me,

Find something to believe in

Someone to believe in

I was confused

I thought I already had

No, I know I already had

But he's not finished yet

I had a dream last night

A dream about you and me

I thought no one would come in between us

But now someone else has walked straight through our paths

And they haven't even realized it

A third path has been paved

And I like it

Though I shouldn't

Because though the paths you and I created were great

The path they have created between us is even closer

Is this goodbye?

I hope not

I really enjoyed our time together

But they don't even know what they've done to us

To me

Until I tell them

Will they accept it?

Will they ignore it?

Will they use it to their advantage?

Do they even care about us?

Do they care about you?

Do they care about me?

A part of me hopes they do.

A part of me hopes they don't.

But there's no definite way to ever tell

Unless something is done

This is not goodbye

But I won't be coming back

Until I know for sure

They know what they've done to us

I'm dealing with a lot on my plate right now...
I'm just an average high-school student, 16 years old, and I have a girlfriend.
However, almost completely out of nowhere, I met someone new. Someone I could be with if I tried. The only problem is, the chances of us ever becoming something are right near impossible. But I can't help these feelings. I want to know for sure. I want to know the truth.
