A Petticoat  ( female ) Diary/..........By Sami Khalil
(She lived in hope , died in despair)
Her desire to be loved and to love for there were no suitors for marriage.
Based on a true story when I was growing up
)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

On those days...
She dances like wild flowers
fluted by dulcet tones
gazing in sweet sorrow
upon utter solaces.
She, who passed star-lights
became a shadow of under-toned shimmers
wandering through life's wild affections
where heavy sighs became her measured void
looking for bucolic warm glows silhouetted
in sweet sensations.

On those nights...
She cradles dreams in tender desires
in a veil of bashful smiles
where the indelible ink is saved
for someone special...for keeps.
Still, she deserves a golden ring
and a clandestine house with stepping
stones to paradise of petaled gardens
where love is tickled to death for eternity.

On those months...
She survives in timeless beauty
brush-stroking the outlines of
her erasable heart, looking for
hands to recreate her rapture d joy
living on just because; of fantasies
on rainy afternoons with no parasols
losing herself in the chill of winters.

On those years...
Constellations glow brightly
and dim softly in sashays of dusted
apparitions when she dances her
last dance!

On those diaries...

A lovely read although bittersweet, not many write in diaries anymore yet they are timeless.

These lines really stood out for me. Beautifully scripted, my friend.
The whole piece is very descriptive and easily visualized.
The wrong lifetime, I fear. It seems she knew of him, but he was not in this one with her. Did he find her in the next? I wonder..

Exceptional writing on this one, Sami. :)

You could delve deep in her psyche & capture her flight, her frustration so very aptly...just like a true poet who can live anything & everything...the last part had the knock down effect!thanks for sharing Sami :-)

what beautiful imagery...I adore all of the sentiments HIDDEN in your words
so many emotions in a ladies life ...and they are expressed in a diary
Hi I am Holly here is my diary
Hi I am Barbara here is my diary
what a world it would be if this is how we would meet-with all open and honest thoughts but these thoughts are so scary to share...especially the ones that say ..love has never found me
but she is still waiting and hoping
truly a lovely write
thank you for sharing fine sir

Time slips by and still she hopes and dreams and pours her heart into her diary. How sad to never know true love, Sami! It is a treasure to have it. Angi~

wow, love she could never quite capture, although she came close many times...

she kept trying until she was gone...there is such longing, sadness, hope, persistence in this...

and the wording is exquisite...we cheer for her, we cry for her, we hope for her...we read her diary and feel guilty for the invasion...but the sadness for her overrides that...we long for her to find that happiness that is so elusive.

Sami, I like the progression of this piece, taking the reader through the days, nights, months, years...

She cradles dreams in tender desires
in a veil of bashful smiles
where the indelible ink is saved
for someone special...for keeps

Saving the indelible ink for someone special... who may never come along, so dark stains her heart forever...

This is my favorite of your poems so far - excellent!
