Ashen...By Sami Khalil

Healing the bruising...

The Poem:

I planted you,

In the legacy of bruised skies,

In the further callings of noted flowers as colors escape orphanages

And yield to the roots of spring conscience.

I planted you,

Naked with bed full apologies,

Of ceaseless moons with pity on prisoners, who survive daily devotions, wearing the shadows of absence.

I planted you,

In the rebirth of wilted petals,

Who survive in distant valleys, attached to indecision of the hearts,

Footsteps away from light in the broad fields of death.

I planted you,

In my intimate words of wedded vocabulary,

Around soft edges of intuitions where our critics below are confused,

Spinning in a state of head spin.

I planted you,

In the misreading of ashen rituals,

As white temples, churches and mosques stand as living archives to almost divinity, in unison of a lost sermon.

Dear Poet, as always...Your immense gift for words paints portraits
of exquisite beauty.

this is reminiscent of one daring to try to find love again but
trying to ignore their heart's plea for fear of being hurt again...
sort an ongoing argument between the intuition and
what the heart desires. -- I think lol
either way... I just got simply lost in
the poignant beauty of your words...Thank you for
sharing :)

This piece has me in a state of emotional confusion... wow.... I feel such sweet tender romance yet a painful sadness. It is almost like you are soothing the heart with such hushed beautiful whispers as if to get it to "bloom" again. (sometimes the most beautiful things grow out of hardship, in the most dreadful of places).....Absolutely amazing and "hit" me straight in the heart my friend.

Oh my. How beautiful...lyrical and lovely. A tinge of pain surrounding a wonderful love story..or maybe it just feels that way to me. Either way, absolutely beautiful.

He planted me in his poem with crystal words
He surrounded his verses with perfumed scent of love
Creating a timeless story that would fit all worlds
That angels would happily guard from heaven above

He painted the grass around me as he laid me among the roses
Spreading his vocabulary of passion, all over my hungry soul
Thirst for tenderness tolerating me to take all the available doses
To satisfy the hunger of a heart, which only his poems would console.

Your poem inspired me to write those lines, thank you for the quick inspiration .. loved your words, it sure gave me wings to write before flying.

Your style is unique and quite exceptional, I like it.
