A romance poem...A sort of a love letter...

A romance poem…

The Poem:

Dancing with vim and vigor,

Long before stars' dim flicker

And the leaves that wither...

Long before the winnowing

Of the wind across soul-scented

Barns and old plowed fields…

Long before our silent questions

Became aware of potentiality

And their scattered companions (answers)…

Conversely, it was “just us”,

Painted in the sheen's of love prompt,

With poignant looks at life and laughter.

Long before roots remember

soil’s drifted fragrances,

Or the five senses of the truest form,

Away from all common places.

Long before wishful thinking,

Merit and demerit,

Even instruments knowing their plectrums;

I read your eyes! I fathomed the silence we spoke constantly!

I loved you!

I love this piece! I love the voice of the poem. It speaks of love before it becomes intentional. Love often starts out as a compelling and natural action. Long term love is work, passion, and dedication. But beginning love for me is always looked upon as fresh and easy! All stages of love are amazing but this piece spoke of the beginning sweetness when it's first ripe!
