Hail to the mystery             by Sami Khalil

A modern Shakespearean sonnet…(About the coming of spring…)

Ambrosial winds drifted across the lands

As fog quivered amongst fragrant shadows

Droplets of mist stippled enraptured bands

Cleaving winter, crowning spring-time meadows.

Through this paradigm shift do souls… murmur

Of jagged mountain-tops where snow melts down

To awned wheatgrass and dales’ cattle herder

Ablaze in Nature’s gems and celestial crown.

Hush! Hush! For I hear myriad of song-bird

Singing as one in action and repose

Awakening earth’s slumber, canvas conferred

Neither drift nor sentience-waning ever slows.

Hail to the mystery of vibrant re-birth

Nay blurred minds can gingerly do unearth.

This is a wonderful sonnet Sami. Super imagery and rich in its language. Rolls of the tongue beautifully when read aloud and I have done that twice today. It is a promise of spring and rebirth and I can hear those song birds already. An amazing write. Loved it.

Mature always hide a magician inside which you see especially in early and late spring, all tree branches mimicking dead long sticks giving birth to new tender sprouts meadows becomes more prettier, birds make season more festive, we all need rebirths just like nature leave past behind wake up as if it is a new self and keep on painting beautiful pictures in canvas of life, at least we all should try for that I believe it will work out for our benefit.
