Gaily Rooted              by Sami Khalil

A modern English sonnet…

With cherry blossoms and robins pleasing

Mornings drift to wide-eyed sunrise glory

Calling out spring from dormant gloom teasing

The timely shine of sunflowers’ story.

I espy the floral realms’ pride across

Rolling supreme in colorful, new bonds

With quickened pace, butterflies-lifted dross

Off meadows’ earthen faces and hued ponds.

Some need not those flapping wings to soar high

Neither magic carpets’ ride to heaven

For nature provides day-dreaming supply

If you can wrap your head around beauty, brazen.

When was last time you embraced the rooted?

For we can leave self-signatures suited.

I've come to the conclusion that you're just too much for words, Sami. This speaks volumes of the poet you are, and the poet I see every time I read you. There are no exceptions. You really are THAT good!

My kind of sonnet Sami. The natural environment offers me so much. It is a great pity that many have eyes and. yet don’t see. Your spring sonnet a feast. We have had a day of none stop rain and cold with it. Spring is certainly teasing. Playing hide and seek. Lovely work as always dear poet.

Hehehe.........
another magic sonnet, Sami.
Good question at the end...not enough of us do embrace the rooted.

Nature survives and all of its elements find some kind of harmony in the scheme of things...wish humans could.
