Khalil An English sonnet… Yesterday, there was a bad thunderstorm As the raging man dreamt of pensive notes Taut with anger and the skeins of Nature’s form The winds that flung out souls in open boats. This scattering leaves lust for life aflame The flooded fields drown by different scales Idling ‘songsters’ found demurely to blame Lending behind grave and filiform tales. Storms bring days like no any other times A frisson coursing through welling up nerves The glowing nimbus turning on those dimes As we writhe in pain around vales and curves. Storms fascinate as kept battle ready Waxing, waning intrigues spurred on steady. © 2025 Sami KhalilReviews
