Today I woke up. 

i woke up with feeling,

feeling happy that i had a comfortable place to sleep in.

i woke up with hearing,

hearing that annoying sound of my alarm clock.

i woke up with sight,

seeing the world around me in a new perspective.

i woke up with the ability to smell,

smelling the faint scent of the wax burner i had on last night.

i woke up with taste,

tasting food that i would never think of to run out of supply.

i woke up with knowledge,

knowing today was going to be another day,

that i'll "wake up" again, 

that another day would come,

which led me to realize:

i woke up with ignorance. 

i have gone 5375 24-hour days of existence,

and some people only live 1 day, and some don't even make it until then. 

which led me to yet another realization: 

i have never actually woken up, except for today.

i awoke for the first time 5375 days ago, and yet today is the first day i have truly awoken and realized:

i am blessed,

i am grateful,

i am fortunate,

i am thankful,

I am awake.
