Distance

Distance

A Poem by Lily

Distance sees through you’re disguise
How many times will you run away?
Only you can save yourself
I see you from a distance
Dancing slowly in the dark
In your beautiful serenity
Yet you are too afraid to see
Your lonely takes the place of pain
Slowly you twirl around in a empty room
Waiting for someone who takes your hand
Leaving you wanting more
Alone is your addiction
Having trouble breathing
All the tears you have cried
Buried deep down
Where no one can find it
Dancing alone with bitter music
Closed eyes taken far away
From a dreary world
A ghost of what you were once

I think in the first line you meant YOUR DISGUISE
It's YOUR without an apostrophe.
Because YOU'RE is short for YOU ARE.

And in line 8 you wrote ' Your lonely takes the place of pain.'

I think you meant, ' Your loneliness takes the place of pain.'

I LIKE TO BE HONEST TO HELP OTHER POETS :)

WELL DONE!!

Wow Lily,
I have only been reading your writing for a few days and you're really doing well. You seem to be able to capture a depth of emotions darker side without really leaving the reader with troubling angst...This is easy to relate to as one who ruminates my darker side...I'll be listening...

This strikes a hauntingly familiar chord with me. I can see myself in this, if i was being brutally honest with myself. Beautifully penned. So tragic and bittersweet the words you convey.
