My light

My light

A Poem by Samantha Croix

Your love is like mother nature
You send the sun drifting into my stormy days
Bringing life and light to everything in its reach
And when the sun sets you send the moon
Reflecting the light of day on my night
You have the power to end my darkness
And the power to let it continue
You send your sun to rise on someone else
You forget to send the moon to me
My darkness has nothing to hold it back
Each day grows darker than the next
You never send the sun again
The loneliness consumes me
I begin to fade away
The darkness and I become one
There is no hope

I can feel these lines here, such an emotional read, but nicely expressed

Reminds me of that story about the sun and the moon- something about how they love each other but can only see each other during an eclipse- I can’t remember exactly. Anyways very nice poem.
