Still Caring, Still Standing

Still Caring, Still Standing

A Poem by Sapphire Balasquez
"

VERY rough, new poem that I wrote.

"

At a loss for words?

Perhaps not,

as the words just seem to

want to gush out of my mouth

all at once

when I'm staring

at a new face,

analyzing it,

hoping to fnd

some shred of you

and what used to be me

You've been in that box

for ages.

It keeps getting smaller

and I don't want to crowd you

but is there possibly room for two?

or has it closed that far in?

you're waving a red flag in front of the bull

and this time?-- Well...

I tried to warn you, I did,

but you refused to listen

so I'll stand here stupidly,

trying to throw the correct words

out of my mouth

while you tempt that beast

but I warned you,

and soon enough he'll come for his revenge.

In my room of orange, I obsess over books, and write into the unearthly hours of the night, starting at my Shmoo for condolences. On any normal night, my music pushes my thoughts along until sleep ta.. more..
