Where Tomorrow Touches Forever

Where Tomorrow Touches Forever

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz
"

to my grandparents

"

The years go by;
Days layer delicately upon days,
moments upon moments.

She finds a certain sureness in his smile—
A simplicity that transcends
Tears and worries and the questions
that continue to ask themselves of her.

He insists that Love is all there is.

So she loves him.

The years wrap around him;
Second after second whispers through,
yet he knows there is something deep inside—

Deep inside of him, deep inside of her.

Something that takes those sweet seconds
and imbeds them
graciously
into the sheer Beauty of his life.

There is something here.

Something that transcends
Time;
Yet her love, and not Time
makes him immortal.

So he loves her.

The years have passed by
sooner than a smile
[quicker than a kiss]

They did not miss a moment—
They clutched tightly to the winds of Past, Present, Future—

There is a distinct feeling of Forever here.

It is as though the sun has wrapped
its resplendence
through their veins
and they breathe the balmy air
of passion
and of prayer.

They were made for this.

Their love grew from the Earth;

From the Earth, they grew
to Love.

So they love one another.

Since I've been with the Writer's Cafe, I've always known you to be a good writer. But, this! This is absolutely fantastic! This piece is stunningly beautiful, and it acts as a brilliant beacon for the rest of your work. It is a lighthouse that welcomes readers to visit the land upon which it stands, like a monument to poetry. It has the ability and never fails to reach out and touch the reader's soul.

Outstanding work, and I wouldn't change a thing about it. My only advice: Wrap it up with a pretty bow and publish this immediately!

Man, this was inspiration and a picture of the fairytale made reality. I dream of this kind of love- I am so glad to know it is possible - now, I don't have to feel my dreams are in vain.

What a beautiful tribute to true love that doesn't fade with time. I am so impressed by this, Kara - so very very impressed. - Leah

mmm...

you made me feel content...which, I promise you...as a self-proclaimed dreamer...is hard to make me feel.

this is beautiful. simple. heartfelt. clean. wholesome.

I could keep going...but I think you'll get the idea without 200 individual words...

fan-freaking-tastic.

it's so beautiful...love is just that much better if it's been around for decades... (not that I'd know from experience...)

thank you.

Wow...this was nothing short of incredible, Kara! I know it probably sounds corny, but I almost teared up while reading this and thinking of my own grandparents. Love is a beautiful thing...

I'm not sure what else to say...I'm speechless.

This is absolutely beautiful, Kara! Love is never so becoming as when it shows in the life and in the attachment of a senior couple who you know have loved each other long enough for it to become not only a bonding affair, but a life story! The feeling this verse imparts to the reader is of tenderness and admiration!

very emotional piece, who may have stood in front of them for a day and perhaps, you wrote it eventually. I am reluctant to say this, "i envy their love for each other", well, as what I've notice, love nowadays are too modern to last forever... and thinking of my piece, it reiterate the best of senility, of course it was with grace and compassion.... you delivered it well of what tomorrow will bring upon them, but for sure they still have that immortal love with them...GREAT ONE!

I wish I could write like this... to show appreciation and passion for the people that mean the most to you... that's my desire, but my biggest failure. I envy this piece, because it's just awesome!

This is quite beautiful even without knowing the backstory, but knowing it is an expression of your grandparents makes it beyond beautiful. I bet they were really touched by this.

Great work!

I liked this very much. The love between two people who plan to spend the rest of their lives together is like nothing esle ever known. Your poem clearly dispalys the trueness and depth of a love that endures and surpasses time. Very good.
