unbidden

unbidden

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz

lay beside me
on this dewy evening grass
and dream with me.

no, don't close your eyes...
please, look into mine.

i sense your hand upon the grass
beside mine- i feel the heat
emanating from your body.

there is a vibrating potency
to our quiet, forbidden passion
on this night.

we have known one another (before)
i know the angles of your body
as only a lover would.

time has passed, but sometimes
i still gasp

at the snapshots of our love.

the hot, unbidden memories
of us.

As always, you manage to zero in on the essential aspects of a moment, elucidating them for me in such a way that makes me feel as though I "know" that moment.

"no, don't close your eyes...
please, look into mine."

This was quite an effective line, both in content and timing. I can understand the instinct to close one's eyes to heighten the sense of the moment. But to look into another's eyes instead (especially being asked to do so), adds a level of intimacy and intensity that amplifies the perception of the moment even more. Those lines perfectly set the tone for the rest of the piece.

Another lovely journey.

mmm this is sweet, in that naughty way one enjoys a second helping of icecream, or part of their love's steak dinner.... wonderful read

such carefree sensual thoughts...like the rest of the world doesnt matter...if only for a few hours, minutes, seconds...its all about the two of you...and such imagery as above makes it really come alive...memories and sunlight are a surefire combination...

This had a easy sensual feel to it, as if you have not other cares in thow worl other then this person. I really enjoyed this piece. this was far more simpler in writing then your other poems, but nonetheless still very good. THAT is what gave this a care free feel. I liked this one very much. Good work Kara.-Catrina

--True Kara style!!!

I'm so glad that you're back, I've missed your writing. This is an excellent "comeback" poem, so soft and so soothing. There was a sense of peace in this poem that hasn't been present in your writing for quite some time, I'm glad that it's back (though I love your other work too). Bravo, my friend!!!

"I know the angles of your body as only a lover would" This is my favorite part. It is so intimate and revealing. It shows a respect for your mate as a whole physical form rather than just a few nice features. Welcome back K.

this was a cute one. definitely on the shorter side compared to what you usually write. i don't like the word "dewy" because it sounds too sappy to me, but that's just my personal opinion.

I could dream in your eyes all day, my love. Aruba has created it's own feeling in all of your writing so far. The feeling of desire, longing, and love runs through them effortlessly. :) Happy to have read this.

i know the angles of your body
as only a lover would. == favorite lines.

It is a feel-well poem, it is filling me with warmth,
and a hope that there exist loving, long-term relationships.
