Silent Swim

Silent Swim

A Poem by sara
"

this was written sometime last year but i kind of forgot about it untill a little while ago. enjoy.

"
Its night.
and I'm in a backyard,
I am in a pool,
Swimming,
 And treading,
Swimming,
And treading,
Relaxed and content,
Everything is…
Silent.

I feel a hand,
On the back of my scalp,
Pushing me,
Down,
Into the murky waters
below
Shock! Confusion!
Everything is…
Silent.

I am thrashing,
Wildly,
Trying to get out of the suffocating waters,
That are keeping me...down,
In tune with gravity,
Panicked! Terrified!
Everything is…
Silent.

I am sure,
This is my last breath,
I scream,
Hoping against odds,
But only the bubbles that stream out of my mouth,
Can hear me,
Losing. Hopeless.
Everything is…
Silent.

I love the way you wrote 'Everything isSilent' at the end of each stanza
I was imaging the scene as i was reading and it's very beautiful, the way you described it - how you see death in front of you
and the thought of being suffocated under water just freaks me out :o
Nice write!
