my cherry

my cherry

A Poem by Sarahe.p.
"

love and longing

"

Like a chocolate covered cherry, my heart has been waiting.

Like a chocolate covered cherry my insides grow weaker.

I wait for you and my sweetness turns bitter,

I try for you and my shell only hardness thicker.

I’m tired of false hope and disbelievers.

Why should I save myself any longer!!!

But still I wait, amongst the rest of the many flavors,

Until the day that I will be plucked by you...

The only one who will ever get to taste my cherry center.

Nice underlying message in this one. I would change the font size in the final line of the piece to fit that in the other lines. I think you could take out the last line, or work it into the second line of the fourth stanza to fit with the other three stanzas before it. Well done.

great poem! I thought the use of comparing your feeling to the cherry like a simile was well thought out and executed very well, and so much i enjoyed reading it as that. although the poem was kind of filled with a bit of anger and sorrow feeling, the mood was slightly lightened by the use of 'the cherry' simile. Well done! :)
