Taste Exploration

Taste Exploration

A Poem by LoneStranger

An explorer in the vast unknown
cave.
Rows of stalactites
gleaming white in my flashlight
weep,
drowning me in their salty tears.
They soothe my cracked lips,
my parched throat
and within them I taste
their sweet anticipation
souring into bitter resentment.

Neat. Concise.

"Rows of stalactites
gleaming white in my flashlight
weep,
drowning me in their salty tears."
Very nice lucidity. I can see it, taste it. Phonetically excellent. Rolls of the tongue.
