Put That Blade Down Child

Put That Blade Down Child

A Poem by Sarah Lynn
"

For all the people who feel like they have no other choice..

"

Put that blade down child
There's more life to live
You have much more to offer this world
Much more to give

Put that blade down child
You'll be alright
The almighty father will guide you through the night

Put that blade down child
Life's not that bad
Forget all those people who just make you sad

Put that blade down child
You have so much to offer
Every day that you continue to live
And fight this cruel world, only makes you stronger

Put that blade down child
You have people that love you
They'll always be there to hold you and hug you

Put that blade down child
Confide in someone
When you let it all out, you feel as though life has just begun

Put that blade down child
You're making a mistake
Don't end gods plan for you by choosing your own fate

Put that blade down child you'll survive this , i swear.
Surround yourself by people who will always be there.
I promise you child , life will start looking up
Just keep faith alive and never give up .

Wow, this is a most powerfully written piece of work. You have taken a very difficult subject and given it the treatment that is deserves. "I promise you child, life will start looking up--
Just keep Faith alive and never give up. Great rhyme schemes too. Well done my friend--

Thank you ! (:
Very powerful poem that (unfortunately) a lot can relate to - but great message of strength and hope in this. I particularly like the last two lines - something we all should remember. I also like how you used repetition of the same first line for each stanza and how you made the word 'blade' stand out.
Nice work here too :)

Wow, such powerful words! I felt such positivity and strength when I read this and feel as if I'm done with it, don't want to do it anymore. Our lives our too precious to give into such harm to ourselves, to scar up our skin and just wait for things to get better. Waiting is tough, but there will always be better days. I am so glad we can relate on such a deep level. It really helps and these words that you write are so intriguing and inspiring. Keep it up!

Why wouldn't I have nice things to say? Haha.
Ah, the thought of suicide. I've been struggling with depression for about five years now. Have I thought about ending myself, yes, but I keep on going, not giving up too easily. I can really connect with this one. Thanks for sharing
