Love Is You

This is kind of more a free style poem I wrote as an essay for a teacher talking to her students about love.

Love, everyone has their opinion on it. Everyone thinks they know what it is. What is love? Does anybody know the real definition of love? No, they only have their own definition- their own opinion on what it is. If you google "define love," this is it's definition an intense feeling of deep affection. Key word being feeling, define feeling- an emotional state or reaction. Now if feeling is a reaction, then love is how we react to deep affection. Define deep affection or just affection, a gentle feeling of fondness or liking. Affection is simply just a feeling of fondness. Fondness is just simply what you like whether it be someone or something. What does it mean to like someone? By liking someone you would be taking interest into them. So love practically begins with what YOU like. Like is having the same characteristics or qualities as; similar to. So when it comes to liking someone it doesn't matter what they look, their body type, or how they dress. Since love is a feeling of fondness and fondness is like, you can't just "love" someone because of their looks, you love them because you LIKE them. Remember like means to have the SAME characteristics. So really love starts with YOU and what YOU LIKE. Love is treated like nothing, it's toss around like trash. How could you toss something around with it having so much meaning? Love is just more than just a word, it's more than just a feeling. Love is YOU.
