If Life Were a Comic Book

If Life Were a Comic Book

A Poem by Sara Elyse Abrams

If life were a comic book,

There would only be good and evil,

People would have power to help,

And the good will always prevail.

If life were a comic book,

People would be less complex,

Love would make sense,

And life would be less perplexing.

If life were a comic book,

There would be heroes and heroines,

Ones that we would trust to save the day,

And they would not die in a war we started.

If life were a comic book,

There would be someone to save you,

When no one else can,

And when you are alone in the dark.

If life were a comic book,

Anything could happen,

Nothing would be fictional or impossible,

And there would always be hope.

If life were a comic book,

The hero would be there before it is too late,

They would bust in the door and save you,

And you will always have someone by you.

The list of what we all want in humanity and life the expectations, battling evil everyday. I loved the comparisons and differences between what's real and not. The reality of it all jumping back and forth what's real and what's not. Yet felt reality of the present, this moving, vital now which eludes all the definitions and descriptions. Here is the mysterious real world which words and ideas can never pin down. But here I believe you did. I especially love the ending. "If life were a comic book,
The hero would be there before it is too late,
They would bust in the door and save you,
And you will always have someone by you." Heroes and villains how each is contingent upon each other. Sincerely your friend in writing and life
