Silly Little Girl

Silly Little Girl

A Poem by NICOLE

Silly little girl,
With hopes so high,
Lived in an imaginary world
So fake, you could touch the sky

It's really not her fault,
For since the day she was born,
Hooked on fairytales and happy endings,
Everything she thought was part of the norm.

Nobody told her otherwise
Years went on, and she was still naive
Her parents simply smiled,
And let her find truth in what she believed.

The girl was kept in a glass bubble,
That nobody would dare to pop,
Because if they tried to reason,
She would put her mind to a stop.

Until she met this little boy
Blonde ringlets covered his face
Blue eyes peered out from beneath
Around him, her heart would race.

The little love birds flew,
And together, they fell so fast,
Little did she know this would be no fairytale,
Because the love in those always last

One day she walked in on him,
With another girl in his arms.
He tried to deny his betrayal,
But in her head were sounding alarms.

Silly little girl,
Who used to have hopes so high,
Got knocked into a realistic world,
Where it's okay to cry.

The little boy popped her bubble,
And because of him, she learned,
That fairy tales are not realistic
But just an alternate life she yearned.
