Falling Inside Out

Falling Inside Out

A Poem by
"

It's getting harder to let go. My realization is a second one too late,

"
Running, running.
My legs can't seem to stop.
Your outstretched hand is mocking me,
and our eyes painfully lock.

I seem to be falling forever.
Holding out for a miracle.
Hoping for a hand,
to take me out of the darkness.

The wind rips my heart,
and all it's contents drop.
Photos, memories, strips of film,
pouring out, and dropping away.
My hand reaches out,
but all I seem to grab is air.

It's tearing me apart,
It's getting harder to let go,
My realization is a second one too late.
All the things I built,
now crumbling down.
I hate how it's killing me;
to hold onto my heart..

I really love this. Running and reaching for things as they fall and leave us. That first verse is powerful. The whole thing has this feel about that makes it seem almost like it's not a poem, but at the same time it's unbelievably poetic. (that makes no sense, but what can you expect? I don't make sense. :) )

i can definitely relate to this poem. i love poems i can relate to.. especially poems as inspiring as this one. It motivates me to hold onto my heart (that special person in my life), and never let go. You're quite the amazing poet/writer Twinkle. Keep it up, i plan on reading more of your work.

I think we can all relate to that feeling, where you feel like all you can grab is air. One thing id like to tell you i really liked is the last idea written. That you're holding onto your heart. I like it because youre holding onto that person, but it's like that person has become part of you and part of your heart is that person's. You're trying to say that you arent exactly holding onto a person, becasue you're holding onto that part inside yourself that always longs for that person.

My fave stanza is the first one. I like how this pooem is so filled with sadness and pain. Sometimes it's wrong for us to trust our heart, but we do because we think it's worth ther risk of getting hurt. freat write!

I love the feel of this poem.
I felt as if I was gasping for air or for a warm grip.
You were great with the emotion and feeling of this poem.

I like the pace and the story in the poem. Easy to feel like you are running in circles and not gaining any ground. Many hidden stories in the poem. A excellent poem.
