Cast Aside My Safety for Her

Cast Aside My Safety for Her

A Poem by Savanna Robbins

My feet feel stuck, in the soil

Before me, is a bridge

A worn down and unsafe looking bridge

And on the other side is my long lost sister

I want to grasp her hand, drag her to safety

But the rickety bridge terrifies me

I fear it will break, and I will fall to the depths

But I must be positive in mind

Because this is my sister, who’s been missing for a year

I must attempt to reach her

No matter how dangerous

Because my life is empty without her
