Fragile Insect Wings

Fragile Insect Wings

A Poem by Maxinne Marie

Fragile insect wings

flicker underneath

stray silver moonbeams

amidst the horror

of this black twilight.

My only solace

is the memory

of the melodies

he once played for me,

fingers running through

black and ivory.

Fragile insect wings

cascade symphonies

of dark, silent death.

Shall I be rescued

from this tragic fate?

Only his music

can ever defeat

this melancholy.

this is wonderful, how you juxtapose the tiny sights of its wings to the moonbeams which makes one look up at the moon. lovely how you captured the sounds.
