Say it in Photographs

Say it in Photographs

A Poem by Maxinne Marie

Time would give us chances to talk,

chances to share, chances to be together.

But then, they’re just chances.

They can’t make you see that I think you’re special.

What can I do, right?

I can only say it in our photographs.

See that smile on my face

and the look in my eyes

in those captured moments

when you were right beside me?

The photos say it all.

I understand what you are saying here. Pictures do speak louder than words and sometimes it's a shame that people don't see the big picture. Great work though.

Some people get so caught up in the big picture they never notice the details that make the picture what it is. Nice one.

This is so beautifu. There are a lot of things that are said better without words. How do I know that someone loves me. Not because they said so. But because I see it in their eyes.

i love the simple sentiments of these truths. Photographs do speak more words than any spoken;
silence speaks more than words as well.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

I love this poem...people glance at photographs but they never see what lies beneath them, the "thousand words" contained within them. That's why I hate posed photos so much...you don't get the real emotion of a scene like you do when you take pictures of people together when they don't know they are being photographed.

Great job, it's a short poem but that just makes it that much sweeter when you can express such a strong idea in so few words. I know I'll be looking at pictures alot more carefully from now on.

I've never really thought about looking at a picture from this perspective, how much you can see in a person's face, and the person next to them has no clue, even when they're looking at the picture too. What a great way to say this! I liked the spacing of this, and the emotion. I think the spacing, every other line, makes each line have more punch, emphasis, on the reader.

I like that the idea behind this is that whole 'a picture is worth a thousand words' cliche, without ever once saying that. You didn't have to, didn't need to, so you didn't, and I think the poem was better for it. The message is there, you don't have to shout it out for the reader. Great job.

this is so true.... i hadn't thought about this in a while... but there are certainly times in photographs where that captured moment says it all... says more than we could possibly allow ourselves to say in words.

nice job :)
