New Addiction

New Addiction

A Poem by a schizophrenic writer

Shoot me in the heart,
tear my life apart.
Leave me for dead,
watch my heart shed.
Tell me you don't love me,
tell me what you wished I'd be.

Without you I'll get lost,
my insides will be tossed.
I'll need a new addiction,
maybe I'll use a prescription.
But the drugs don't last
to hide the past.
