Our Swan Song

Our Swan Song

A Poem by a schizophrenic writer

On that fateful day
you promised you'd stay.
Our love filled the air,
we had nothing to fear.
I thought we had it all,
I thought our love would never fall.
I thought we were strong,
I guess I was wrong.
So this is our swan song.

The meter here really enforce l enhances the piece. It sounds song like. I could picture this being a chorus in something. The imagery also is done sparingly but with such skill.
