The Monster

The Monster

A Poem by Sarah J Dhue
"

not to be confused with or associated with my upcoming novel 'Monsters'

"
When they broke your body
they broke my mind
Shards of the former me
ripped and tore
stitched and sewed
a new rag doll husk
A hideous reminder
of who I used to be
A new reflection
of who I am now
I don't recognize them
That thing in the mirror
with a blank stare
down-turned mouth
and fresh blood on its hands
