Evening Light

Evening Light

A Poem by Scott De Buitléir

How pure and gentle
The light this evening shines;
A final performance, perfectly
Captivating its weary crowd

I walk in the pools of dancing
Light, playful and innocent,
Cleansed after the icey storm

Only to reveal this serene gift
Which makes jewels of droplets
Left on the glass, a fragile treasure

For that wealth of joy and peace
Shall pass on, as the sun sets
Beyond the last of westward clouds.
