A too literal declaration

A too literal declaration

A Poem by The Misplaced Poet
"

'I don't want to live in this world' Is meant by too many

"

I don’t want to live in this world,
A world,
Where words are more powerful,
Than the physical abuse,

Those we hold in our heart,
Cut us deepest,
Words ripping shreds from inside,

Parents must realise,
Punishment is not an obligation,
What they are committing,
Is unalloyed castigation,

Resulting in self mental oppression,
Holding our child’s hand,
Being led to depression,

To jump from that ledge,
Was never their choice,
Instructed to walk forward,
Not once acknowledging their voice,

Accept this as tradition,
And the only change to see,
Not the drop in suicide,
But the age they will be,

‘I don’t want to live in this world’
Is meant by too many

I recommend that you perform this! It can be even more killer on stage. It flows well and is super powerful.

Wow, this is a really good piece. Your rhyme is great and the lines are well constructed. So sad, a lot of people say those words just as expressions, but a lot more meant them. Thumbs up.
