Effortless Love ( a lie )

Effortless Love ( a lie )

A Poem by German Perez

If it was for the people we love, should we change?
Some will say that love should fit like a borrowed coat,
no pulling, no seams splitting.
But I hate those people.

Because love is not effortless;
Love is a splintered door,
a hinge so rusted,
that it screams every time you open it.
yet you still walk through it.

Love is change. The knot that holds. The scar you trace in the dark.

Hello again Perez!! This poem made me laugh. I don't know if you were meaning to be humorous but I loved the part were you hated the people that said that "love is like a borrowed coat." I myself never have experience love besides the normal loving the family and friends. Love is such a complex thing to describe even to an observer but I'm glad you are up for the challenge. Personally compromise isn't something people should do when their in love so asking "should we change" made me think internally. I know there is supposed to be give and take but if it is love it should be effortless like the title states. But in all reality love can be messy, unpredictable, and chaotic. Like you stated a hinged rusted door. Maybe its a bit of both who knows. Should we change? I don't know either hahahhahh!!

Thanks for sharing your poem!! It's great to be able to get those thoughts and paper and then share them to the people of the world like me!! :) I appreciate it (Also I would find you in that forest Perez!!) Totally :)

Actually, I've heard perfect love casts out fear.

Love is different for every person, but in my opinion, there is no such thing as perfect love.
