![]() Untiteled Chapter One Part TwoA Story by realmwriter
Rose sat quietly, eating breakfast and pondering the previous days events.
Why had that fat a*s Gerry left so suddenly? She thought everything was going well, or at least it seemed like it was to her. He had been a little quiet the last few days. Maybe he had a lot on his mind. His job wasn't stressful, all he did was sit on his a*s in front of a computer all day typing in progress reports. On his days off he vegged in front of the T.V. and rarely moved from his Lazy Boy. So why the sudden leaving. He just stood up in a flurish, grabbed his coat and hat and ran out the door without so much as a word. Gerry was a tub of a man, with roly poly fingers on baseball mitt hands, and arms the size of an elaphants legs. He had short thining hair coverd by a grubby fiddora and a wire thin mustache. He raely showerd more than twice a month and he shoveled Cheetos into his gaping casem as if he were on a mission to destroy every last one of them. He drank like a whale and smelled of week old baby diapers. But he was swimming in money. Guess he came into it when his parents passed in a horrific car acsadent, or at least that was how he explained it. In reality he invested $100,000 he stoled from his company over 10 years into one of the most lucrative stocks on the market. Just so happend its shares more than trippeled on NASDAQ a few weeks later and he was suddenly filthy rich. Then a couple days ago he just suddenly leaves. It didn't make any since, or at least not to Rose. Ray came over, need anything else he asked? I could use some more of that bacon if you wouldn't mind, Rose replied. Comin right up. Hey Danny! Throw some more bacon on the grill for the pretty lady wouldja! No problem Ray, Danny said with a gravely voice, as if he had spent his life chewin on glass. Danny was a stick of a man, bald except for the rat tail he kept braided on the back of his little turtle like head. He hated his job but it kept him from beein homeless, though only just. He slapped four more slices of slabb cut bacon on the grill and whiped the swet from his forhead with the back of his greasy hand. Bacons up Ray, he hollered. Thanx Danny. Here ya go Rose, how bout some more O.J., he said as he refilled her glass before she could get out No, Thank You. Ray was a swarthy gentlemen, the kind a woman would take home to meat her father. He always dressed emaculately, even while workin at the diner. Rose would have never guessed he was a highly educated man. Only reason he worked at the diner was because his father owned the place and needed the help. Couldn't really afford to hire anyone due to the slow econamy and all, so Ray volunteerd to help his dad out for as long as he needed him to. He was busy rolling silverware when he heard the bell ring, he glanced over to the door and shadowing the doorway was a tall rather muscular man, dripping wet from the deyluge that had just started moments earlier. Be with you in a moment, have a seet wherever you like, Ray called out. No problem, said the large man. Ray finished rolling the last couple pieces of silveware and went to the corner where muscle man took a seat. What can getcha, he asked? Rose was screaming from behind the counter, Oh My God, Oh My God, Oh My God, What the hell just happend? Somebody call the police! © 2011 realmwriter |
