Neon Nightmare

Neon Nightmare

A Poem by realmwriter
"

Inspired by Chris G Vaillancourts' Neon Signs.

"

He slowly dies within his lies and builds himself a house of horror.
He looks to see what is not there, the comfort of the neon signs.
The warmth they use to provide, now just cold with fear inside.
He melts away at dawns soft touch, the wrath has become too much.

Slowly now he finds his way, back to sanity, back to stay.
Under the glow of the neon sign, he plays it over in his mind.
Faintly arrid the neon glow, no way back, no where to go.
Over and over the nightmare plays, slipped from view his mind erased.

He thought he had it, but alas it's gone, his house now imprisons his soul
Maddening still into the fray, relentless the light that tears his way.
Quickening his blood, he steps his pace, trying to escape the neon vase.
Away from yesterday he cannot run, but into silance he finds no solace.

Nipping silently at the fringe, his guard is down, his weekness tinged.
Stained with heart and colored mad, the neon sign caught his mind.
Under his skin the light has sank, it fills his lungs and burns with stank.
If only there was a way, to etch out of him, etch out of the edge of fringe.
