Time's Embrace

Time's Embrace

A Poem by GJ

Pulse of Time,

Even and steady.

Jostles day,

To heighten pace.

A time-bound race,

Until nocturnal grace

tramples its face.

So dead rests the day,

To be baptized as yesterday.

And a new day dawns

to partake time’s race

It’s birth and death

Time directs

And man ponders, late

Where have the days gone?

Where did the years flee?

Alas! Man too, time’s slave

His life and death in time’s embrace
