RELEASE OR RELOCK?

RELEASE OR RELOCK?

A Poem by rachel D

i'm slowly piecing this together, it's fragile where i step.

the sunset hits my eyes through the window as we're settling
i'm hoping the light will burn this virus up and out of me.
but all that i am taking in rolls back into my throat
these memories are demanding my attention.
i float above the scene's and this is how i see it
and this is how it tastes:
red
litters the sky
sweet
coffee, milk and foam to swallow
sunroof
the console holds four hands, four arms and two heads
apple
a drink you never thought you'd like

and all the sun has done was brand me deeper with it.
a hand rakes through my messy hair
stirring shivers on the inside
i am colder than i knew myself to be,
than i let myself believe.
now my veins begin to thaw

at home i keep a key tucked away in my pocket,
though on days when i'm shuffling underground,
i'm sure it is too shallow
to hold the blade which unlocks me.

i'm all through for now..........................

Such flow and imagery well written for those who see a bit more into thoughts and words. A breath of thoughts and well penned...

I could just read this over and over. Speaks in such a distant, soft and intriguing way. This song means a lot to me and I like this very, very much.

This is one that again, I don't quite get, but it still has that Rachel D. quality, that sharp, stinging pain laced with beauty and rays of light. It seems hopeful in some ways. Love the last stanza in this.
