Tragic Beauty

Tragic Beauty

A Poem by Geist

It is so late here as I sit and stare out this window

Darkness has fallen over this town

You can hear the silence of one million lonely nights echo

As I listen to them all I see her face so clearly in my thoughts

Thoughts provoked by memories I've tried to forget

I can not seem to let go of them no matter how hard I try

She stays with me always

Her smile

Her scent

Her beauty

Her touch

The warmth she would demonstrate for me

The stars brightly shine tonight

I am reminded of the beauty in this world

The beauty of this girl who is now only a memory truly speaks to me

Sometimes the most beautiful things we experience

Are the experiences of the things we have lost

Do I know of whom this is about? Aww so sad this piece sounds to be. Of things we take for granted, I think one of them that tops the list is what a person means to us. And if we never ever have the courage to let them know this right away, then we may never get a chance. One day they'll be gone and we're left with regret.
