The Greatest Game

The Greatest Game

A Poem by Geist

I have just wandered through the devil's gate

Having watched the fire's burn with hate

One man's journey through it all

Until the end he did walk tall

Engulfing his soul with furious rage

Trapped he was inside that cage

I watched it all as he burned alive

On all that anguish the beast did thrive

But having walked right through the devil's gate

I only survive it all to return at a later date

This is an interesting idea - I'm guessing you walked through hell, and survived, only to return again after death? That's certainly a gruesome idea, probably why I liked it so much. XD Great use of the shorter stanzas. :)
