A Teardrop in The Ocean

A Teardrop in The Ocean

A Poem by Sean Cole

I shed a tear into the ocean
and walked away satisfied.
That my duty had been served
by the tear from my eye.

I have read there are five oceans,
and maybe seven or more seas.
And to think i had nourished
the mightiest of these!

But while sailing lonely waters,
un-chartered and foul,
I think how insignificant
that teardrop seems now.

But if I could have augered,
or seen through the fog;
I would have soon realized
that i had it all wrong.

So for those who may read this,
please note that I tried
to nurture the Great Ocean
with a tear from my eye.

This was a wonderful write. As a note of interest; there is exactly the same salt to water ratio in a human tear as in a drop of seawater. How strange is that? 100% rating from me on this..it is quite unique.
