Inward World

Inward World

A Poem by seanhoag

I wake up feeling lost

To a world glossed

Tossed in a fresh morning frost

And I finally see my holocaust

As I crossed the plane from interior to exterior

I pay the cost of feeling inferior

I begin to freeze

As the breeze

Sweeps through the trees

And I fall to my knees

Knowing I could’ve seized

All I ever wanted in life

But now all I dream of is the knife

After hours on the ground in the snow

My body finally begins to show

The slow decay

That’s been in my mind

I was blind

To the assigned decline

That confined me

And as the stars realigned

I redefined

The designed decline

That defined me

But my body’s interpretation

Of my minds amputation

Though an exclamation

Of devastation

Was more of a summarization

It still contained all the devastation

But there was no explanation

No vaccination

And no chance for reformation

I was left with nothing but meditation

And contemplation

And as I looked up at the constellations

I embarked on the greatest investigation

Looking upward and outward

I explored forward and backward

I ignored

What I had stored

And soared

Aboard my spinal cord

To the outward world

But the outward world wasn’t space

Space is just the face

Of a truly amazing place

That we have misplaced

This space

Is encased

Underneath the skin

It has been where we’ve been

Thought our thoughts

Felt our pains

And watched as we fell

And yet it flourishes

And it nourishes our souls

Buried deep inside

This world resides

And it provides us

With a guide

And it collides with our humanity

But if you can reach this land

You will see its beauty

And see that it’s planned

For such insanity

And even if you’re a tenth of a second from death

Breathing your last f****n’ breath

You will be addicted to it faster than meth

And dying will be irrelevant

Find the INward world

Beautiful poem about how our deepest desires, fears, dreams; all the things that matter , are all inside of us. Our inner worlds are more more precious and real. Really beautiful read. Thanks for sharing.
