Lined Up

Lined Up

A Poem by Misty Blue Eyes

Lined in a row on the coffee table
Some full, some half gone
Some are all gone
She moans and groans
laying on the couch unable to move
She slurs and stumbles her words

throwing the bottles around
The little girl and boy stand there
hiding behind a corner
having to watch again as their mother
can't take care of them

She takes another drink
and another
by noon shes done...
Lays limp on the couch, eyes closed
Out the door they go, to play alone
torn dirty stained clothes......

Alcohol leave children alone and family can fall apart. A sad tale in your poem. The sad part this is very common. Description and story was powerful. A excellent poem.
