First Drop of Rain

First Drop of Rain

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Noticing God's creations.

"

Every moment a subtle gift
To the spirituality which exists
Testimony to some place beyond this way
Before this world I was and now I am

Stood beneath the first drop of fallibg rain

Purity washing way wrong
Sound effects as wet ballad songs

Pushing forward crowding atomic molecules
Crossing with scent and further senses
Upon the jasmine, the pines and I outside

Moisture more than captivates, it...

Catches and suddenly blinds, us with awareness

Now insincere, seems the bustle of the day
Within the present, simply glimpse the beyond and wonder
Are there truly spirits in these watery waves
Touching everything swiftly, gently

Lightly as a painters brush would

An unexpected thought

Is a fly in a liquid web
Among a down pour of...

Infinite love spores metaphors
Each an individual creation living

And the first drop always makes me stop

The second mimics more like joyous tears

Wants me to be so happy, and continue standing

Until, I know  that I am complete

In my understanding...

Of what it is that I hold most dear

Sometimes we just have to drop what we're doing and take in the beauty. Thanks.
As it crosses with scent and senses
Upon the jasmine as molecule moisture catches

A fantastic poem of faith. In particular I loved the metaphor and rhythm of the line above.

Thanks Pryde for your comments.
To be swiftly caught in the unexpected thought
Among a down pour of a million more ...

This is really lovely, Mike - a beautiful testimony of faith!
