The Truth as I Know It

The Truth as I Know It

A Poem by Michael G. Smith

I see the real truth

In a piece of negative film

Life is not black and white

But, white and black

Everything I learned

Is reversed and rehearsed

Gay marriage isn’t right

And God is a real as faith

All men His natural enemies

Claim to be great

But, cannot be on their own

So it sad to watch them

Tear down the Promised Land

Illegal aliens running rampant

Take the guns from our hands

To make the citizens weak

And in the end when the unbelievers burn

It will be with a confused look

Too late to switch from liberal to conservative

There is nothing more powerful to a man than the truth as he knows it. Very well put. This country certainly does not seem like the same place where I grew up.
