A fool of emotions

A fool of emotions

A Poem by Jennifer Ochieng
"

A painter tries to recapture the woman he loves on canvas

"

Her face emanates from the canvas

An imagination bottled inside for so long

A form he could visualize but never to have

Never to hold...

A tormented soul

His anger bolded by the crimson of his canvas

Flamed by the evening sun

Shining within her

His hands falter at her lips

He smooths the rough textures

Torn in passion, drenched in desire

Perhaps he should stop the temptations

A fool of emotions

But he must capture her face

If given a chance he could dress her in lace

Today he must paint her

He must illuminate her

With the glow of the sun that steals into his balcony

With layers of paint, he must create harmony

Within her, within himself

He could love her from a distance

A fool of emotions
