Alone Today, but Tomorrow?

Alone Today, but Tomorrow?

A Poem by wolfie

My loneliness is like daytime rain showers
A light yellow creme streaming through the holes in the clouds
Gentle pitter-patters against the window
Humming and thrumming a lullaby
Hoping to carry me to a sweet summer rest
Setting a warm orange glow in the horizon
Giving my skin a sunset kiss through the peeks between the blinds
The only breathing I can hear is mine
While Nature outside serenades me,
wishing for a companion among the dewy blades of grass
To lie on the cool dirt that beckons for an ear to hear the march of the ants

Still, loneliness keeps me inside
To curb a bowl of ice cream in the crease of my arm
Filling the gaps of silence with the laughter of comedy movies
While writing more poems in my stream of consciousness
